Code of Conduct, Ethics, & Grievance 

Code of Conduct

  • Treat colleagues and clients with kindness, thoughtfulness, respect, and without judgment

  • Provide no medical diagnosis or treatment
  • Honor your agreements
  • Strive to provide the best care possible
  • If unable to fulfill agreement do your best to find a replacement
  • In case of illness or emergency have a plan in place for clients
Code of Ethics
  • Uphold privacy and confidentiality for clients

  • Be reliable

  • Support clients heritage, culture, and traditions 

  • Maintain integrity at all times

  • Continue to better ourselves through continuing education

  • Refer clients to additional resources when needed

  • Maintain certification requirements

Grievance
  • Grievance occurs when client or doula have concerns with baby welfare, postpartum care, or doula not following code of conduct or ethics

  • Complaints should be sent to yayadoulahood@gmail.com explaining the situation, who was involved, when, and where, the incident occured

  • All parties will be contacted to gather information

  • A mutual resolution will happen to the best of our ability
